Background information & Investigation notes

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INVESTIGATE THE BATTLEFIELD WITHOUT A PERMIT FROM THE BATTLEFIELD MANAGEMENT.

G.H.O.S.T., Inc. received a permit to conduct the investigation of the battlefield. Permission for the permit had to be approved all the way to Washington D.C. as the battlefield is federal property and a National Landmark. We highly discourage anyone from attempting to investigate the battlefield without a permit or to enter the park after closing.

As well known as the Chickamauga Battlefield is for the Civil War battle which took place there (which was the second bloodiest of the war), it is also widely and popularly known for its legends of paranormal activity as experienced by tourists and locals alike. Numerous books, articles and web sites include accounts of these experiences and theories of their origin or cause, most of which is little more then speculation. We investigated the Snodgrass Hill area (cabin, rows of canons and field) as well at Old Vitetto Rd. where many sightings of "Old Green Eyes are reported.

INVESTIGATION NOTES

Arriving and meeting with our assigned Ranger at 9:00 pm. We proceeded to the area for which we were granted permission to investigate. Although very cold (well below freezing) we setup our equipment and divided into 4 teams. Each Team was assigned an area and switched areas upon rotations. Each Team was able to investigate each designated area.

There were a couple personal experiences worth mentioning (but not presented as evidence). The experiences were the sighting of a full body apparition at the end of the row of canons next to the Snodgrass cabin. This was experiences by 3 of the 4 teams (teams did not know other teams had same experience in same place). Also, 2 of the 4 teams sighted a what they described as a floating green light. One of the teams attempted to follow the light but was unable to keep up through the brush and trees.

EVP's - There were 2 EVP's captured during the investigation. The first was a Class "C" EVP which was in an extremely low hertz frequency and -85dB (both outside of human capability). We could not make out what was being said but it sounds to be 3 syllables. The second was a Class "A" EVP. It was a very clear and loud (despite very low frequency and -35 db) voice saying the name "Tim". We had no one present with the name Tim or anything similar sounding.

There was 1 anomalous EMF reading or 5.0+ near a monument. The source for the EMF reading could not be found. This reading was received by 2 of the 4 teams during different rotations.

CONCLUSION

Since the only "evidence" we were able to capture was the 2 EVP's, we cannot classify our findings as "haunted". However, with those EVP's being far beyond the voice capabilities of human speech as well as the reported personal experiences, we feel a conclusion of "Paranormal Activity is Present" at the Chickamauga battlefield.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND INFORMATION

Our photographs, audio recordings and video footage was lost in a hard drive failure. We are trying very hard to recover the lost date. If we are able to, we will post them here for all to see.
